Promoting Your Cleaning Business on the Internet

While exact numbers are hard to come by, it’s safe to assume that the majority of the world’s population uses the internet at least occasionally. Three out of four Internet users, according to the studies, are located in North America. No company can afford to ignore the Internet in the face of so many potential customers. However, there are more than 13 million results when searching Google for “cleaning services.” Can you make money with your cleaning business on the Internet? Without a doubt! However, you will need to plan carefully for how to increase site traffic.
Having a website is a must in today’s business world because it gives you an advantage over your competitors. Direct mail, the phone book, networking, and print advertising are all viable options for making initial contact with a potential client. However, before settling on a product or service, many consumers will conduct online research.
If you have a website, customers and prospects may learn about your business and the services you provide around the clock, every day of the week. A website has significantly more space for content than a brochure or phone book ad would.
Can you recommend some content for your website? A 3- to 6-page static website should be sufficient for your cleaning company’s needs.

The following are some page ideas for your site:

1. The front page When a visitor types in “www.yourcompany.com,” they are brought to this page. Make sure “what’s in it for them” is front and center on your homepage.
2. The service listing Don’t forget to list every service you provide. Explaining the specifics of your cleaning offerings here is a wonderful idea. “Before” and “after” pictures are welcome, too.
3. The ”About” Section Give details about your background, education, professional affiliations, and years of experience in the industry. Put in a picture for good measure. The human element is always appreciated by visitors.
4. Product Listing If you have things for sale, even if you don’t sell them online, you should describe them.
5. A means to get in touch with us. If you want people to contact you, they can find your email or phone number on every page of your website. On the other hand, you can make a page with a contact form where customers can submit inquiries about your services or ask for quotes. Your email address will be safer as a result of this.
6. Testimonials. Solicit brief testimonials from your satisfied current customers.

How do you attract site visitors once your site is live?

Make sure the address of your website is printed on all advertising materials. If you look around, you will see that every business has their website address prominently displayed on everything from company vehicles and pamphlets to advertisements and business cards.
Be sure your email signature has a link to your website. “Signatures” can be pre-configured in email clients and applied mechanically to the end of each message sent. Include the name and slogan of your company, the address of your website, and any discounts or deals you’re offering.
Third, become a member of the chamber of commerce in your area; most of them offer member directories online. A connection to your site from theirs is required. Visitors to Chamber of Commerce sites often look for local businesses to work with, so being included as a member will increase traffic to your site. Banner ads may also be available; inquire with your chamber about advertising pricing.
If you have a yellow page ad, you should link to your website. Most potential customers will first look into your business online. It has come to my attention that few cleaning services advertise their website on the yellow pages (perhaps because they don’t have one).
Google Local (http://www.local.google.com) is a great internet directory to submit your site to. Most people who need cleaning services will look for local janitorial companies. Use phrases like “janitorial services in MyTown, California” as an example. Your online directory listing should appear if you have one. Other options are http://www.411.com, http://www.superpages.com, and http://www.yellowpages.com.
Have a look in the newspaper. Perhaps your site can be included in their directory. Or, inquire about the rates for banner ads on their website.
Create a news release and distribute it via an internet press release service, such as http://www.prweb.com. My press release on janitorial services in my area is included on the first page of Google results when I do a search.
There are other ways to promote your cleaning company besides having a website. A website, on the other hand, can “showcase” your company by providing detailed information that customers and prospects can access around the clock, every day of the week. Your website can inform current and potential customers about all of the cleaning services your business offers. More money may be made from the same amount of work if more people are served.
